The Houston Texans have put together a largely young and up-and-coming roster for the 2024 NFL season. Expectations for this team are high and some pundits even have them as a Super Bowl sleeper. It takes a well-balanced team to get there, from rising stars to trusted veterans and underrated diamonds in the rough. Picking the most underrated player on Houston’s roster right now is a pretty tough task.Best porn XXX. There are strong candidates to be sure. Right guard Shaq Mason comes to mind as one. While he’s won two Super Bowls Mason has somehow never made a Pro Bowl team despite playing his position at a consistently high level since he was drafted in 2015. On the other side of the ball, incoming free agent DL Denico Autry also has a strong case for most-underrated Texan. Autry went undrafted out of Mississippi State and didn’t see consistent playing time until his fifth season in the NFL. Since then he’s been one of the league’s better interior pass rushers and run defenders, peaking at 11.5 sacks and 17 quarterback hits last season with the Tennessee Titans. Autry has also never gotten the honor of making a Pro Bowl roster. Mason and Autry are fine. However, the most-underrated candidate that we could come up with isn’t a player at all, but second-year head coach Demeco Ryans. Before Ryans was hired prior to last season, Houston was circling the drain as one of the league’s worst franchises, winning a total of 11 games from 2020-2022. Without Deshaun Watson their offense finished in the bottom three in scoring two years in a row and their defense wasn’t much better. General manager Nick Caserio certainly deserves some of the credit for bringing in key pieces like C.J. Stroud and Will Anderson Jr., but on paper this was still one of the weakest teams in the AFC going into the 2023 campaign. Instead, Texans fans were treated to the most competitive team in five years, getting back to the playoffs before losing to the Baltimore Ravens in the divisional round. Watching Houston last season one saw a sloppy start the first couple weeks, but a steady improvement on both sides of the ball as the schedule went along. More than anyone else, Ryans was resposnsible for that rise. While one season is a small sample size, he’s not gotten nearly enough credit for the Texans’ incredibly quick turnaround. Acclaimed or not, Houston may have found themselves one of the sharpest young coaches in the league, which might be enough to open a championship window.
